Bath Time

It finally happened to me - I was able to take a bath by myself last night. Of course the peace and solitude only last about three minutes, but that time was wonderful. I was able to shave my legs for the first time!!! Unfortunately my husband didn't notice because we both fell into bed exhausted. I tried to stay up for "Medium" but I didn't even make it through the opening credits.

Bath time has usually consisted of a baby in the tub with me and rotating them. So for example, I have my 15-month-old in first, then as the water cools down, I put the 3-week old in with me. It works pretty well except that my husband gets nervous and excited because he ends up having to diaper and put on p.j.'s twice! Poor him... I then usually get about 30 seconds to wash my body, but not my hair until I have to jump out of the tub and dry off without a towel because sometime during the day I have used it to clean up something, and take over his diapering and clothing duty.

Last night, I did get time to wash my hair, but after the three minutes, my fifteen-month-old was back in the bathroom, screeching, as I tried to keep her off the stool that my other children use to get in and out of the bathtub. Still, I have to be somewhat grateful for those few minutes because I was able to contemplate the next struggle....bed time.
